Overview
This three-day trip takes the scenic route to Machu Picchu. You spend a day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting a weaving village, the terraces of Pisac and the fortress town of Ollantaytambo, before the Vistadome train follows the river down into the cloud forest.
The next morning, you’re on the first bus up the mountain to see Machu Picchu as the mist lifts, with a guide who grew up in the valley.

How fit do I need to be?
Moderate. Some long days on your feet and a few climbs.
Walking at altitude (2,000 to 3,400 m) with lots of uneven steps. Spend at least two nights in Cusco before the tour to adjust.

Questions
How do I avoid altitude sickness?
Arrive in Cusco at least two days before the tour, drink lots of water and take it slowly. The Sacred Valley is lower than Cusco, which helps.
Can I climb Huayna Picchu?
Permits sell out months ahead. Tell us when you book and we’ll try to add one for you.
